Question: I am trying to find something that you can hang on the wall to displaypostcards. My father is into hamradios and I figure there has to be somethingout there so he could display his cards. I thought one might come in hand formyself! thanks
Answer: I don't know about commercial products, but I display the mail art Ireceive on what is basically a "clothesline" - lengths of twinestretched between a couple of push pins on the wall of my studio. I useminiature paper clamps to clip the art to the line. You could easily make something like as a gift for your dad by taking alarge picture frame and stapling lengths of twine across it (staple onthe back of the frame) in several horizontal rows... Go to craft store. Buy those very tiny clothespins...some are plastic andsome are wooden...they are the clip type...Take a piece of grosgrain ribbon and glue those clothespins down the middle(clip side down .I just fold over the top of the ribbon and use floralpins to 'nail' the ribbon on the wall....(you can hem it and put in adowel/cord header, but it's not necessary...this is pretty neat).Just clip those postcards down the ribbon to display. You can do this many times and get a whole wall of cards.. I like the idea of twine/ribbon and mini clothes pins. I bought a #M PostitBoard. The paper sticks to the board like a Postit note sticks to paper.
